Citizen Recycling


The City of Pflugerville operates a recycling center. To recycle items at the center, you must be a resident of the City of Pflugerville and a utility customer. Please bring a valid photo ID and a recent utility statement from the City of Pflugerville for verification.

  • Friday, Saturday & Monday    Closed July 3rd & 4th in observance of the holiday.
  • 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
  • Mulch and compost is available for pickup while supplies last. Bring a shovel to collect and load.                                         Compost is available at this time. The City continues to produce compost, and when ready, it will be provided first come, first served.

  • Refrigerators and Air Conditioners (Limit of 2 per year)
  • Transmission fluid
  • Motor oil
  • Anti-freeze
  • Oil filters
  • Tires (Limit 4 per year)
  • Christmas Trees
  • Hot water heater if it is metal and all fluids are removed.

Non-Acceptable Items

  • Chemicals of any kind
  • Compressed gas cylinders
  • Electronics
  • Explosives
  • Furniture (leave at curb for trash pickup)
  • Gasoline
  • Glass
  • Household trash
  • Industrial/Commercial waste
  • Lumber/ building materials/fencing
  • Medical waste
  • Paint
  • Plastics
  • Products labeled "caution," "warning" or "poison"

Alternative Recycling Suggestions

Plastic bags - Shopping bags are not recycled curbside or at the recycling center. Please return these to your local grocery store. HEB and Wal-Mart collect plastic bags for recycling.

Light Bulbs - Place incandescent light bulbs wrapped in newspaper in a sealed plastic bag before placing in trash cart.

Glass - recycled curbside in your recycle cart. Glass is not taken at the Recycle Center.

Paper Shredding - Shred Nations

Automobiles - numerous area non-profits accept automobile donations.

  • Closed Saturday the weekend of New Year’s, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

  • Residents of Travis County may bring up to 30 gallons of home-generated hazardous waste to the Household Hazardous Waste Facility free of charge. Over 30 gallons may generate a disposal charge. Do not bring items in containers with more than 5 gallons of capacity.

Phonebooks - If recycled curbside, pages must be torn out of the seam
